* Laverne and Shirley started in 1976 and ended 1983. The show was a spinoff of Happy Days (starring Ron Howard and Henry Winkler) as love interests of Fonzi and Richie. The girls started as roomates in Milwaukee, Wisconson in the 50's (even though the show started in 1976 it took place in the late 50's). They worked at as bottlecappers. The L patch wearing Laverne DeFazio and her "boobookitty-loving" roomate Shirley Feeney were small big town girls trying to live life to it's fullest. After a while the girls were replaced by an automated bottlecapping machine so they decided to move to Burbank, CA, were Laverne's pop (Frank DeFazio) and his wife (Edna Babish-DeFazio) opened up a restaurant-Cowboy Bill's. This is a great show and I urge you to watch it on the Lifetime Channel (Santa Barbara area channel 41).
